When love was the only option.

Cold winds, darker and longer nights were the scenes that were setting up in Ahmedabad, much like Zeeshan's life. Zeeshan was a 26 year old Project Manager in one of the software companies. Being a software techie for a very long time he was quite a senoir in the office with a handsome salary, a beautiful home, loving parents, and a decent group of friends.Life was going on a smooth phase for him. BUT he was slowly reaching the so-called MARRIAGEABLE AGE of his life, and his parents were creating profiles all over the matrimonial sites, arranging meetings with girls and so on

SOAK NO MORE

Once upon a time, in a faraway world, there was a small place called LALA land with a population of only 3000. The people there were always united together, enjoyed and played with each other, went out to different places, and lived in peace and harmony. There was only one problem that prevailed there. The women folk of the town used to get very tired of the constant soaking of clothes while washing them and still the clothes would not get cleaned properly. This was a problem that persisted for a long time and still they did not find a solution to the problem.

Green

The sun rises

Green meets blue
land rises

Travelling places

with green.

Giving out life
at every moment
still targeted.

Teenager's Point on Marriage.

It was a regular day for me. Returning from college, throwing my backpack on the sofa, rushing upstairs with my food to find solace with my laptop and the blogging world, I was introduced to 3 months ago by a dear friend. Slowly, the addiction of FaceBook tranformed into Blogger, WordPress, IndiBlogger and BlogAdda. Getting back to that day, I quickly opened up the tabs to these sites, and
VOILA!!

Independence Day: Just another status or a tribute to the lives laid down?

*beep* *beep* *beep* *beep*
Waking my lazy ass up from hibernation, my phone's annoying message tone displayed a "NEW TEXT MESSAGE" from Facebook. *Sigh*. I should have paid heed to my friends advice against enabling message notifications. With one eye open I read the so called notification which read:" Rahul has tagged a photo of you". I was about to break my wall with the NOKIA I had, when another one of those messages popped up displaying some user's comment saying: "HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO YOU TOO". Oh right!! Today is Independence Day.
Happy Independence Day to You folks.

So today is the day when FaceBook and Twitter is flooded with statuses, pictures, videos all saying Happy Independence Day, tagging each other merrily and then commenting on each other's Independence Day images, message "How they are proud of India" to all their contacts. Sure the day is of immense importance to India and it's citizens, but are you sure that the amount of lives that were sacrificed to achieve the Independence and throw out the British can be  justified merely with a status and an image getting hundreds of likes and comments or the 66% sale adverts which are thrown in with the newspaper, the new ice cream flavors with colors matching to that of Indian flag are launched,  or by the tricolor sticking to the glasses of showrooms, or  by decking up mannequins with the tri-colored clothes.Somehow, on Independence Day everyone shows off the patriotism to show that they really care, buy those plastic flags from the cross-roads, listen to patriotic music, watch Border, Gadar, LOC Kargil in their AC fitted rooms munching to Vadilal's tri colored-ice creams and update statuses and tweet about the day and then the next day dump those flags beside the first dustbin they get on their way to office. Is this how the patriotism is shown towards a country for which their ancestors fought so hard? Can the lives of those valiant soldiers be compensated for a tweet or a status update? For a true citizen who is REALLY PROUD of his/her country,  shouldn't the patriotic feelings remains all throughout the year not just come out of the shell on Independence Day and Republic Day?

Tea for two and a piece of cake- Book review

Tea for two and a piece of cake- A title that caught my eye and so I decided to read it. And the way Preeti Shenoy revolved the story around Nisha, Sameer and Akash is completely amazing. She manages the reader to grip onto the book and not leave it till you complete it.

Nisha(a Beautiful, young and suave girl) and Sameer(a handsome young businessman) are the protagonist of the book. They both together have a  story book love marriage, but slowly the love from the marriage fades away, and Sameer moves to a younger and beautiful girl Maya leaving Nisha fending for herself and her two children. Nisha is completely lost, feels betrayed and tries to gather the broken pieces of her heart and life. As she see-saws through a series of emotions and feelings of pain and rejection, she finds Akash, an old friend, standing next to her through her dark days. And sets up "The Saucepan"- a place providing gourmet food for high end parties and gatherings, working out all the troubles and glitches with Akash being her moral supporter. Just when she thought her life was getting back on the tracks, another huge jolt shockes her in the form of her neighbor's death and Akash moving to Pondicherry for work commitments. Is she able to come out of this shock? Read the book to find out. :)

My rating: 3.5/5.

So is it worth the 125 bucks? Hell yeah!! Go ahead and enjoy the book.

Preeti Shenoy has a way of writing which helps the user to relate to every situation in the book. You may find this one an interesting book to read. Other of Preeti Shenoys's books are: 34 Bubble gums and Candies and Life is What You Make of It.

Strolling in the shadow of dusky light
Orange hue above a beautiful sight
People in watching, all quiet alone
Afraid of no warning or gentle atone

Balmy breeze of autumn fading away
waves gushing across the shore
The mighty sun drowning in the ocean
As young heads play with sparkling water
The old ones sit and watchthe palm trees that bend over beautifully

Whispering grass, musty and sweet.
Fragrance of flowers, odors of peat
Shimmering gold from the trees
In the evening sunset, close of the day
A wise owl that hoots, has nothing to say
Peaceful and tranquil now hazing away
Such wonderful sights to end a day.
